What is a Lifetime (VIP) License?

A lifetime license is ONE TIME licensing fee which means you OWN the stream for the life of the Hostcrate company – specifically the port number. A lifetime license is designed to save you a ton of $ on your stream, be able to never worry about your port changing, and give some other awesome benefits. The Lifetime license will soon change its name to V.I.P. Licenses to prevent any confusion. Also, don’t be fooled…We are the FIRST EVER company to offer these types of streams!

You are saving money which is always helpful especially in the long run. We have customers who have had their lifetime license since the release in 2012 and they have saved A LOT of $ by having their license.

Your port number will never change

If ever you need to take time away, you’re license will still be available to you when you come back – You just have to make it an active account again

Lifetime Licenses will include a backup stream from a separate DC for just in case moments where our main datacenters goes offline at NO additional fee (by request when servers are down)

Lifetime Licenses also get the option for any additional backup streams at an AFFORDABLE add-on option which can be used when/if any of our networks go offline or any other of your streams go down! This is essential to all DJ’s because things happen and having a backup is just a good idea.

Simply put, it will be deactivated until support/space is paid.

Express delivery is available for $10 USD within 24 hours or $25 USD for immediately once requested via support ticket. A successful fraud screening must be passed and if required, we may request further verification and invoices must be paid before a license will be created.

The owner of Hostcrate is the only team member who handles express delivery and licenses so please be aware that your support ticket will be forwarded to her.

The stream is still yours. The port number should remain the same. However, you will be unable to use the stream until support and/or space is renewed. The stream will be noted as an “inactive” lifetime license until you have purchased support for the account. Once support and/or space has been purchased/added to the account, it will be noted as an “active” lifetime license and you will be able to stream.

Absolutely. Please open a support ticket to do so. A member of the stream team will recreate your account within 72 hours excludes Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays/Holidays. Express delivery is available for $10 USD within 24 hours or $25 USD for immediately once requested via support ticket. Invoices must be paid before a license will be recreated, no exceptions.

Great question! A lifetime license is the equivalent [typically less than] to one full year of a monthly stream with us which includes support for your license for a year. After the first year, you’ll be required to pay for the support renewal fee. The support fee is significantly lower and you will be saving a ton of $ instead of paying for our monthly plans. The stream itself is yours meaning the port number is yours and will remain yours for as long as we are in business but the support fee is required in order to keep your lifetime license active. This, in the long run, will save you a TON of money on a stream so you can use your money on other important things.

It just means that your account is “active” as in you are paying the required fees. “Inactive” means that you are not up to date on your payment for the required fees and are unable to use the stream in that state. “Inactive” accounts may be switched to “active” at anytime. Example being if you are going to be away  for a while, you can stop paying for support and the stream will become “inactive”. You will be able to at any time contact us to change the status of your account to active. You will be sent an invoice for support in which must be paid before a stream will be reactivated.

Yes, it will be removed. However, it can be reactivated at anytime. Just open a support ticket to do so.

You may add additional space after you have upgraded to the highest plan available. Additional space is charged at the rate of $1.49/Month/GB.

For example (prices may be different, example purposes only)
If you would like an additional 1GB of space and you are on the 10GB lifetime license but you currently have 3 months left for support, you’ll be required to pay 3 months of that additional space which would be $4.47 upfront for the additional space.

If you would like to add space please open up a support ticket to do so.

If you would like to upgrade from one lifetime license to another, you will pay the difference [regular price, not the sale price] and your support remaining would carry over. If you want to upgrade from a monthly to a license, we suggest waiting until your time runs out or you can just get a license as a new purchase altogether as time on a monthly stream DOES NOT transfer over.

Example:
Let’s say you want to upgrade from our Lifetime License Budget Plan which you paid $94.99 to the Lifetime License with 5GB of space which costs $166.99. You have 6 months remaining on support which would carry over. The difference between plans would be $72.00.

You may downgrade as well. However, you will not be refunded and/or credited in any way.
